The GQA Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in a Construction Environment is a qualification that demonstrates an individual's understanding of key issues affecting safe working practices on UK construction sites. It is accepted for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) green Labourer card, which is intended for those working only as a labourer. The qualification covers essential topics such as risk assessments, method statements, hazard identification, and emergency procedures. Successful completion of this qualification meets the requirements for obtaining the CSCS Green Labourer Card, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety on construction sites.

Fire warden refresher training is generally recommended every 1–3 years to keep staff updated on fire safety legislation, evacuation procedures, and risk prevention, with annual training advised for high-risk environments.
